With the revised app and new firmware (6.5 Prototype), you can enter an offset up to 20 deg at the low temp end in the app. I have the max offset entered (+20 deg) and my grate temp is still about 10 deg higher than the set temperature. Now, I just have to set the grill 10 deg lower than called for in the recipe. Also to even out the left side to right side grate temps, had to slide the heat shield over the firepot all the way to the right.

Hope that helps.
Thanks, I will do that tomorrow as I have one more loin to cook. If I can get a loin dialed in, I should be good to move on to anything. I am kind of liking this a lot...

Made some Italian sausage and cream cheese stuffed, bacon wrapped chicken breasts on the GMG tonight. I've made these many times, but these were the best.

Loving this grill!

Ok, I have a question since I am going to be cooking a lot of pancakes and sausages at a camping event next month. I'm trying to cut down on the amount of stuff I have to haul up there.

Has anyone attempted a griddle yet on their DC? If so, any advice? I saw where GMG had one for the bigger units but not the DC.

I also saw earlier where Tim used a cookie sheet with success.

Thanks

GMG Griddle - Green Mountain Grills

Limited success. I burnt the bottom of the cookies.

I imagine you could do a griddle, but its gonna be awkward. The door is smaller than the grill area, and it would be like cooking through a mail slot.

If there was no other way, you could do it, but I think it would be worth carrying a dedicated griddle instead of trying to use the GMG.

my $0.02

I guess I should have read the post instead of just glancing at the pic.

I use my Coleman Stove with a griddle. Also can do the same with a standard BBQ.
