Whether home or not, the story doesn't change. DH does help with grilling and handing things in and out to the picnic table. Now that we are down to two, We are much more likely to grab sandwiches, etc and eat out for dinner or pick up take out bbq and eat at the camper.
I do 90% o the cooking, n prep.both at home n on the road. For two reasons, first and most important, I hate the dishes! second, I really like to eat.
"Looking over shoulder". DW thinks everything cooks faster on HIGH. Shhhh!
Kinda like the song...eaten burnt supper, the whole first yr. ....... Or 25 Lol!!
DH is an excellent cook and I defer to his skills when camping. He is a master griller. I shop the ingredients and work up the menu & he takes on the majority of prep and cook. I prefer cleaning it up because then I will know it will be put back in the "right" place. I am happily his sous chef and clean up crew when it comes to meals. I am told my cooking is pretty darn good but because I work long hours during the week and DH is semi retired so I am primarily a weekend cook. It works.
