Totally agree! I would never use a public facility when I can use my own. I know who the last person was to use it and it's much cleaner.

Made all sorts of cornbread in my portable camper oven, first the one you put over the burner over the stove, then the one with its own 1-lb cylinder of propane. Also made cookies, bread, cake, etc. also used the Dutch oven over the fire, which we still do. But it's a lot easier to just turn on the oven in the TT in the morning and whip something up! My favorite in the Dutch oven is peach cobbler, followed closely by freshly baked bread. It just doesn't get any better than that! These can both be made in the TT oven, but it's not nearly as much fun.

trudinator: I am sure when you bake some breads the whole campground is after you for the nice fresh baked bread. You cannot beat the smell of bread cooking!

I haven't noticed a big diference but I run an electric plug in fan for the most part instead of using the A/C. I usually like cooler foods when it's hot so I can't say I have used the oven much during summer.

Now days most Toaster Ovens are big enough to cook a pizza. We just tag along a little toaster oven. Can even plug it in outside if heat is a concern

I use mine on a regular basis. I have an apartment style propane stove in mine though.

We use our oven all the time. Only complaint is that your really have to be carefull with heat. We've burnt quite a few things until we figured out exactly how to set it.

We like to cook while camping - not your ordinary campers fare like hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. I'm talking prime rib in the Dutch Oven. Smoked Pork. Mushroom stuffed tenderloin. Homemade pasta. Fresh pizza on the grill. We always seem to have lots of interested parties in the campground when we hang the $90 prime rib over the fire. The first one was kind of scary, but we've made so many now that its routine. And we did burn the first loaf of bread we tried. But it's so much fun to see what we can do over a campfire.

The ignitor on the top of the stove does not light the oven. To light the oven, it is necessary to light the pilot at the rear, center of the oven with a match or lighter. Hold the knob in the pilot position for a few seconds to ensure that the thermocouple is heated. The adjust the oven control to the desired temperature.

Ditto to OP. We use ours every day...as a storage area. Would love to have just a cook-top with storage below. We DO use conv/micro on every trip usually every day. Steve

Man, I love making biscuits and gravy and while I can make biscuits using a campfire, I sure prefer the oven.

I use an insulated cookie sheet and we have not had any problems in our oven. Granted I use it as a bread storage in between baking, but I love those biscuits and gravy that Oakman makes.

There are 137 (now 138 posts here) I was sure there was a link to several stones from oval 13 inch ones for the countertop type ovens to the 15 inch round ones that fit perfect in the RV.
I like this one. Amazon.com: 15" Diameter Pizza Stone: Kitchen & Dining

Yes! We use our oven quite a bit. Sometimes it's just frozen pizza, other times it is a roast. Our new Flagstaff has a bigger oven. We are looking forward to baking. Imagine the smell of fresh bread and campfires
