Favorite Dutch Oven recipes

Well friends the season is underway for some and for some of us newbies I was hoping to start a DO recipe thread. For me, my new 12" deep DO will be on my doorstep in two days and I want to practice a few things before getting somewhere where failure means not eating, ha ha. I've seen a few different threads on here that discuss everything from meatloaf to cobbler but for you experienced DO chefs, what's your favorite main course and dessert that you can put together with some cast iron and coals? Cheers and happy camping!

I just bought a 10" Dutch oven last week and haven't had a chance to use it yet but am anxious to get started. It will be a new experience for me. Just a few days ago was a thread about Dutch ovens and there was at least one good recipe.Check this out and it might still be active.

Dutch Oven?

I am thinking of doing a peach cobbler as my first attempt.

I've referenced that Scouting site before - lots of good ideas to choose from.

Nothing better than a big pot of beans cooking in a Dutch oven hanging by a chain from a tripod over a bed of coals. Cornbread cooking in a 10" Dutch oven, makes me want to hit the rv park

One thing for sure anything you can cook in the oven, you can cook In a Dutch oven. We do homemade biscuits in our 10" for breakfast almost everyday.

This is the easiest dessert to start with and it is great.
