I will stress seasoning. Most all sites I've seen don't tell you the proper temperature for seasoning a DO properly. Even if the one you got was preseasoned it's a good idea to re-season it. Clean it with soap and water then warm it slightly and wipe it down all over with pure vegetable oil leaving only a very thin coat. Do the lid too while you're at it. Then place it upside down in a middle rack of your oven and turn it to 500ºF for 2 hours. It creates a bit of smoke but not bad. If you're opposed to doing it in the house you can do the same thing in the grill just regulate the temp as best you can. After two hours turn the oven/grill off and let it cool naturally. You'll be well rewarded for your effort.
