At the risk of being deported, I don't actually like Tim Hortons coffee. I find the taste bitter and often burnt or old. I'd sooner go to a local mom and pop coffee establishment for mine.

Never tasted Tim Horton's coffee but if it's like Starbucks, Seattle's Best, etc, I'll pass for something that doesn't taste like it's been brewed for 3 days. Fresh brewed Folgers, Butternut, Maxwell House, etc. and not the supposedly aromatic altered taste junk. Just fresh brewed, strong, black coffee please. Doesn't even have to be hot! Thank you.

Nah, it's closer to a Dunkin Donuts type of coffee. I can't stand the expensive, over burnt stuff either.

To Hutch:

I also went through a Tim's dislike phase. Turns out the place I was getting coffee from was just doing a bad job of it. They're not all burnt, but there are some. Especially the ones who don't follow Tim's corporate rules of no more than 20 minutes a pot.

We love Maxwell or Folgers BUT our favorite, by far, is a great little coffee shop called BAD ASS COFFEE in Destin, FL. Of course almost everything in Destin is great. 😛

Good coffee has chicory in it, like CDM. We have it shipped from Louisiana to Virginia.

MacDonald's coffee is sold in Grocery Stores in Canada now. Just saw it a few minutes ago.

I must confess to my Keurig addiction as well. I am not a mass quantity coffee drinker, so the Keurig works well for me (a "heavy" coffee day for me is 3 cups ). That said, however, I DO like bold dark roast coffee (and agree with OC that Starbucks & Seattle's Beast <G> are WAY too bitter).

For several years, I was able to get Timmy's Midnight Magic (which I had discovered at a Tim Horton's when I went to Ontario for a conference).

In addition to good beer, Timmy's is another EXCELLENT Export from our northern friends in Canada

All of a sudden, my normal sources for Timmy's dried up! I did find, however, that Green Mountain Midnight Magic was almost as good and 2 Coffee People k-cups ("Jet Fuel" and "Black Tiger" - both discovered by our son) Were darn fine brews as well.

All three are available on Amazon (and you can even setup a subscribe & save account for them, which will save you a little bit more!)

McDonalds coffee is really good, and you cant beat the price. When I do see a Tim Hortons, I have to automatically pull over for a cup though.
