Cowboy Coffee

Cowboy Coffee: Bring water to simmer, remove from heat, briefly let cool, add freshly ground coffee, wait a few minutes, pour through filter into mug. Add heavy cream. Take a sip.

Nothing could be more wonderful!

FYI: Cowboy coffee is strongly flavored, so it requires less coffee than normal methods.

I use a French Press with the coffee ground coarse. You can find some great varieties of whole coffee beans in food co-ops and of course, regular type beans in supermarkets. Boil water, measure coffee, pour hot water in press, let sit for about 5 minutes, coffee time!!

Well a Bunn, of course, dollink. I like my coffee fast!
We are seasonal, so it's not an issue using a Bunn.

Javamatic

No matter how many friends and family come with us, they always seem to congregate at ours for morning coffee. We bought an old Javamatic for $5.00 from a second hand store and have used it faithfully every camping trip. I think it makes 30 cups? But it all goes!

Trust me, you would NOT want to see my little sister crawl out of her tent before her morning cupper! We call her "Campzilla".

I like Community brand coffee, run through my Keureg. Very bold. Something about the way the machine pressure forces the brewing process.

Just plain old regular Folgers Drip for me. Strong, black & either hot or cold. Carry a cup around all day and half the night. Never leave home without taking a cup of coffee. A quart thermos on trips. Probably take at least a 1/2gal or more to get to Goshen.

Mr. Coffee 4-cup electric for days with electricity, percolator for days without electricity. Folgers or Maxwell house. I'm not as much about the taste as I am about the caffeine.
Do the coleman camping coffee makers fit all types of burners and are they fairly quick? I'm not a lover of a percolator.
