My bread is flat
I have searched all over and cannot figure out how to keep our bread from smashing. So we leave in the morning with a loaf of bread in the pantry. By the time we park for the night our bread is about 1/3 of the way smashed down? I can only assume this is because of a heat thing. How does everyone handle this? I have thought about putting it in the refrigerator however my understanding is that it can dry it out.
What is everyone doing?

We have a big plastic bin with an airtight snap on lid the bread, cookies, crackers and all that travel in. Never had a problem. To maximize storage space other stuff can go on top of the bin in the pantry.

My son keeps his bread in his MBSU! Yes, it's a "Mobile Bread Storage Unit" known to some as "The Microwave" and it apparently does a great job for them

What ValMelton said. I use them for the boat (I seldom make up sandwiches beforehand while fishing......meat needs ice, bread does not), and make sandwiches on the fly.
These work 1,000,000%!!!!!! AND, they keep air away from bread, the reason it goes stale faster.!

My bread is flat
I have no idea why your bread flatten down but I keep my bread in a plastic container to avoid getting smashed.

This or if packed for a long trip we have a Rubbermaid container we use to store the bread and place it in one of the interior storage compartments with our other food tubs.

The stove, sink, and microwave are great traveling places. On our first trip everything got smashed and bruised to where it was unrecognizable. Now that I have a few trips under my belt, I put bread in Microwave. I put fruit in a bowl and place it in the sink. I then use empty beer bottle 6 packs and put the more delicate fruit in there. No matter what I do, banana's just don't like traveling.
