Smoked turkey for Easter.

Well technically since ms Amy and I slept in the camper last night and it was a balmy "25°f " last night we officially spent our first night in the camper.

Today I'm smoking a turkey for Easter!

Ms Amy did a brine for it yesterday, we pulled it out this morning rubbed the bird with olive oil and tossed on some cookies seasoning and I put it on the smoker!

We'll check on it later!

Excellent choice for an Easter dinner. We've never smoked a whole turkey. We usually just buy a turkey breast. I think I now prefer poultry cooked in the smoker to beef or pork. And, you did good by brineing it yesterday. That is the key do delicious, moist turkey.
I'm jealous. Thinking maybe I'll talk to the wife about smoking a turkey breast tomorrow.

One of my favorites! I use peanut oil, kosher salt and poultry seasoning for the rub. I put a peeled orange and cut up apple in her gut to keep the dark meat (our favorite) nice and moist. I feed rosemary branches into the smoker to give 'er some extra flavor.

I hear you...spring has been teasing us here in Colorado but the past two nights have been in the lower-20's with a couple inches of snow.

Where's this dreaded "global warming?"

We're in Gettysburg this weekend. Got down in the high 30s to low 40s at night, supposed to get to 60 today. Hoping to go for an easter ride. We'll be deep flying a ham.
