I bought a pitboss. 820 I believe. Menards.
http://www.pitboss-grills.com/

There's better but it was at the price point I wanted to spend.

I'd consider a treager a "high" end.

[QUOTE=TURBS;841546]You could definitely do this on your grill!
With this.
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...080576&alt=web

If you have a 2 or 3 piece grill grate remove one and stick this between your burners.

I've smoked on my grill "4" burner.

I put the meat on one side "2 burners off side" then light the other two burners for heat and the smoker box.
That way the meat is not over direct heat.
I've done ribs this way and the turn out pretty darn good.

Just a suggestion.

Btw thank you!

Thank you! I have to try that. Bet it makes the house smell good too if I open enough windows.

Please research all the possibilities and make a decision based on what you want for a smoker . I don't believe you can go wrong.

However, DO NOT buy a master built electric smoker.

I also just use tin foil. I wet the wood chips just like using my smoker. I wrap wood chips and poke holes in foil, gives a pretty good smoky taste. My smoker is too big to take camping. I just use this method with my propane grill

After looking @ both I can definitely tell the treager is built "better" .
Legs were beefier.
steel appeared to be heavier guage.
Again my opinion.
Probably would have been nice to have both side by side to compare.

I purchased a Bradley Electric smoker. Automatic biscuit feed, temp and lots of room. My choice was made on portability. I take the smoker to our trottage or camping and limited cargo capacity due to a overloaded half-ton pickup. Also starting into smoking wanted something that was easy to use and didn't break the bank. I use Alder and Maple as Turbs does, tasted good on Pork. Have hickory for brisket, mix and match different woods sometimes. Also made in Canada, they also sell the same under some house brands.

Thanks. I looked at the web pages and for models with comparable grill surface areas, the Pit Boss weighs 20 more pounds?? The Traeger is beefier?
