Thanksgiving
So....we'll be camping for Thanksgiving. We are going to fry a turkey outside. Any recommendations on how to handle the other cooking? I'm thinking I will make a few things ahead - like dinner rolls and stuffing. Have any of you done Thanksgiving on the road?
Any help is much appreciated!

Annie,
We have done it several times. We usually make everything else we want on site right in the camper kitchen. Fried turkey is usually such a hit that it never truly makes it to anyones plate lol.
We treat our trailer kitchen no different than out kitchen at home. In other words we don't feel like we are limited in what it's capabilities are.

We did it one time and used the Dutch Oven's for the sides. We did a chicken instead of turkey, it was only the two of us.

We'll be camping with friends at Percy Quin near McComb, MS.
Haven't discussed what we'll be cooking, but it may be a fried Turkey, with all the fixings.

AnnieB and I are headed for Topsail Hill Perserve State Park in Santa Rosa, FL. Have to put our feet in the sand. Hopefully one of our friends from Lee County, FL will be meeting us. No matter whether its the two of us or ten of us, I am frying a turkey!! Can't beat the flavor! I think Annie is trying to decide wether to cook her famous apple pie in the TT or at home before we leave. I have to have the apple pie.... so good!!!!!!!

Well for Thanksgiving I get to go to Chicago for the week to visit the MIL and listen to her gripe about Nancy and me not spending every available minute of vacation time we have coming up there (750 miles one way) to listen to her gripe.

I forgot to mention, our floormat at the kitchen sink has an apple pie recipe on it.
I've always wanted to try it. Just might have to next weekend.

Topsail Hill !!!
We love Topsail Hill, but unfortunately, we made other plans early in the year. We usually spend a week there in Oct. There is always next year.
Y'all have a safe trip and

Thought I would update on the Thanksgiving trip. Fried turkey was fabulous and made a great gumbo the next day. Made the apple pie and stuffing in the camper oven. The apple pie was picture perfect and the stuffing was delicious! I think we used everything there was to be used on our week long trip and it all worked out great. We did our frying and greasy stuff outside on the little propane grill. It was a great success!
