I use a portable green mountain and take it in the camper! "Davey Crockett"
I've done two turkeys on my pit boss smoker and both have turned out GREAT!

Oh and it's 12v or 120v !

Awesome, Turbs.

Here's a 22 lb turkey I did today on the Rec Tec mini..........took about 5 hours, maybe less. And yeah it fit in the Mini. But I pulled a tiny bit of skin off the top pulling it out. Without the pan, it would have fit perfectly.

Had a Traeger for 4 or 5 years now, can't live without it. Has anyone tried the "mini" Traeger or whatever it's called? I like the idea of supper cooking for me while I'm at the beach.

Pinerock had one of the portable traegers , he now owns a Green Mountain Grill Davey Crockett. In fact at our last gathering in Nashville, we are now 5 for 5 on owning a GMG Davey Crockett.

I've been using this little smoker for about 4 years.

"SMOKIN-IT" Smoker Model #1, stainless steel electric smoker

It's advantages are:

Portable
All stainless
Use real wood
Well insulated
Simple design with easy parts replacement

I usually smoke to temperature and monitor with thermometer whose lead i can just run through the smoke stack - no opening the door required. Makes the best beef brisket I ever had from an electric smoker.

Iirc Pinerocks could never really get the treager portable to work very well.

The GMG has a built in probe and wifi that will signal you when it hits a desired temp, whether it's the grill or the food. You can also control the grill from your smartphone.

We have the small Traeger. I love how it cooks. I soon discovered to check the hopper often to see if the pellets have gotten too low. I keep a large galvanized can with lid and metal scoop right underneath the cooker, so it's easy to refill the hopper. I usually make ribs and chicken, but that turkey looked delicious! I may do one in the Traeger for Thanksgiving this year. We bought ours and the wood pellets at Costco 3 years ago.
