Watermelon juice trick

We bought a big watermelon for the 4th. We finished about 1/2. What to do with the rest? We put the pulp into the blender and turned it into juice. The juice stores neatly in the fridge and the rind went out with the trash. Very tasty and no longer a storage issue. I honestly don't think you'd have to have a blender - a potato masher would do the trick as well.

Anyone else have some nifty food storage solutions?
