I guess you have never had a Thunder Storm pop up @ night when one was not expected ??? Or you don't mind putting all your stuff away every night ??? Back when we had the old manual awning,,, we would set under it a watch it rain Big Time,,, we don't go camping to set inside !!!

Yea I do put our stuff up just for that reason of an unexpected storm. I don't wanna wake up and find my bbq stuck in the side of my Moho or my chairs over in the neighbors pick up

Here's how I see it. I try to be very considerate around other rv's. if I do this? What might happen to others around me? If I chain my awning down and little storm blows threw? Will it wind up wrapt around my neighbors brand new Moho ? Will all my junk I left sitting out wind up threw the window of the 5th wheel across street? Just don't have it in me to find out. I put our stuff up

Had some pretty heavy rain where I am, plus wind. No problem with poles/awning!
