Just sold a set of poles to my first repeat customer!
Martyq bought a set in goshen and liked them enough to put a set on his second awning.
Lucky for him he lives close by to the shop and swung in and made the purchase!

Yes I did and it works fine. I used the main screw that holds the head on and a secondary self tapper below. I think using the screw that holds the head on is more solid than drilling two new holes into the arm.
Love these poles, got the complete set from you.

Freedom1955. Is your awning electric? If it is, did you have any trouble behind that arm with the cover that protects the power wires?

Do you feel good about the main screw having enough bite even without the self tapper. (I know you thought enough to add it) I like the self tapper idea and will do so.

Yes it is electric. Didn't have any trouble at all with the wire or wire cover.
I think its more secure and won't rotate at all with the self tapper installed.
