Sorry had not kept up with thread just saw your question. I used Gloss black Rust-Oleum paint for mine. as I have black awning arms. Scuffed up poles and cleaned real good to degrease. We shall see how well it works. Will experiment with some type clear coat over paint. Later RJD

Since its been a recent discussion about rivets or bolts for the brackets I went ahead and got stainless 10-24 X 1/2" machine screws and lock nuts to be sent out from here forward .

Seems to me it would have been better to us 1/4" to facilitate only using 7/16" wrenches. JMO.
