We are using a couple of small Solar lanterns that we found @ Menards,,,
they have an off switch and they put out a very soft light... I use reusable zip ties to hold then to the awning poles,,, I did not want anything that would keep the neighbors up !!!
LOL !!!

if fixture could cover the length of 5 holes then the spacing for lightsIf I had a better fixture and longer table, would have been a little straighter line.....2nd pole coming out better, so I might enlarge holes some to try and straighten up . Extruded alum. with a v slot and drill bushings...

Bob,
Do you think your lights would make enough illumination inside the pole to allow you to drill every next hole at 90º to the last instead of in a straight line?
That way it would make the pole illuminated from all angles.

Thought of that, but tufto do with these strip lights.....a person could turn pole 180 and have lights facing trailer, but remember, you still have the holes for pining at different lengths to contend with

Roger that.
I guess my question is... are you trying to illuminate the area around the pole with these lights or simply make the light beam 'noticeable' so someone doesn't run into them?
It would seem to me the strip light (contained within the pole) would give off enough illumination inside the pole to make it 'noticeable' no matter what direction the strip and/or holes faced.
If you are looking to use it for area illumination... different story.

Sent me your poles so I can experiment....lol....every 90 degrees around pole would work, but if one leaves the light strip loose in side pole, when you go to pin the pole at required length, the strip might be in the way and someone would surely rupture the string...and with the sticky back being so thin, if over time it gets chaffed off, your sol...on this 2nd pole, I've increased the dia. I of holes to compensate for any misalignment in my Redneck fixture....from inner to outer pole....
