Everybody is going to have different comfort levels. Mine is sustained at 20mph gusting 30mph+, anything over that and the awning comes in. On my old small TT with the 10' manual awning I would probably go 30mph gusting 40 mph. Currently I have an electric 19' awning that will be expensive to replace if it gets trashed.

Hey Bob what did you have for highest wind today in Quartzsite? I had a high of 30 mph, and sustained winds of 25 mph just south of Quartzsite. I would be pulling mine in at 20 mph, it is rocking the rig at 25.

Doesn't matter, you want and need them.........get the powder coated. I didn't and sprayed em and now I'll have to touch them up in the spring.

Made some Deflapper poles to go along with them and used 2 sets of the Deflappers.
Wind tested in gusts over 50 mph late in October.

Upwards of $3500 installed. Been there.......... twice.

Never had a problem with the 16' awning on my Roo 23SS. Bought the Flagstaff 27BESS and it had its 3rd 19' awning when I traded it in on the MH.

Did you have a wind gauge, or is that a estimation? I am really surprised on how low of a wind took to sway my 36' fifth wheel toy hauler. I have a weather station in my trailer now, so I can see how fast the wind is blowing. Some winds I would have thought was 40or 50 was only 25 to 30mph. That's why I ask.

A weather station mounted on a tower at the park office in a PA state park, which was about 1/2 a mile from the campground. A small airport about 3 miles away recorded a 70 mph gust. The Park office is down in a small valley but the campground is on top of a ridge.

Poles work but not so well on mine.

Mine is almost 11' high when open and Ron made me a special set. Although, I think the auto control awnings have the horizontal arms, which may not work anyway, right?
