Originally had them on my 2014 Flagstaff 27BESS - when I traded it, took the hardware off and now have it on the Sunseeker.

It's called "adjust-ability".
Sometimes I have to put the poles on a knee wall, when the awning hangs past the pad, and sometimes I don't.

Plus, I can carry more due to the reduction in weight!

Luckily it's a dually... Might not be able to handle the weight of the poles otherwise.
