Thanks Turbs!

Had my awning deployed with a huge sun screen and attracted a lot of visitors trying to figure out how I had the only shady area in campground. Once they saw the key to the whole thing was the awning poles they were pretty excited to add some to their setup.
Hopefully I remember the business cards when I head back up...with the rise in heat you might have a rise in demand!
I am glad they are so quick to deploy as it sounds like they will be up and down with hot days and stormy nights ahead!

PS: Capt. Mike has the same awning arms on his, I'm not sure how he handled it, so what about it Capt. Mike?

I have only the top brackets installed on my awning. I don't stow the poles attached to the awning arm, like most do...I keep them in the bed of my truck. At a campground, attaching them to the top brackets when setting up is an easy step. And while I think that Turbs does (and OldCoot previously did) some damn fine work fabricating the poles, I made mine 3 or 4 years ago out of painters' poles.

One thing for sure, no matter who you bought them from or made them yourself, they provide a great sense of relief knowing that you don't have to worry about the awning! Great design OldCoot and great work to him and Turbs!
Also a special shout out to Glenn (I think) for coming up with the idea of the deflapper poles.
I made a set of deflappers myself and combining those with the hold down poles(Turbs) deployed I spent a nice relaxing week camped out on a unprotected point with some pretty good winds and storms at Mistletoe State Park last week! Never once was I concerned!
So definitely a great investment!

I just wanted to add that I butchered my lower bracket alignment a little bit after making the poor choice to use Mr. Coors as my installation partner. I told Turbs about my being an idiot and he sent me some bolts free of charge so I could make some adjustments. In my defense, my outdoor fridge is located right next to the awning arms. I am weak.
That is what I call customer service.

OCW (Bob Caldwell) came up with the original deflapper telescoping pole idea.

At least a Turbs product is manufactured with the correct way to make the poles drain properly. I do like the powder coating option as well. Now just red a new Columbus to mount them on.

The original large pole down with a ground pad which are also made in the USofA by a real US citizen (as opposed to an Iowegian) have drain holes in the very bottom, not like the upside down poles that have the end plugged and the drain hole above the plug. B and B is goofed up also.
BTW, the only thing he's done right in his entire life is marry the beautiful Ms. Amy and buy a Chevy.

Bob
Can you take a closer pic of the mounting points for the deflapper pole?
Thanks...
