Great pics but you should have included some of the ones that survived with your poles. I did not attach mine to the awning with bolts, I store them in the pass thru and use spring clips to attach at the camp site.

Keep in mind I can also make these in only two poles, however they CANNOT be powder coated.

My normal set of poles are only as long as the awning arm for a nice clean factory look with nothing hanging down.

The george town triple also follows suit for a nice clean factory look.

The george town double would have the inner pole hang below the awning arm.

Looks to me those damaged awnings all were from a rainstorm. Either not angled or dump feature didn't work. Can't see how poles would if helped at all, if not make it worse.

Rain and wind.
Poles will for the most part eliminate both issues.

Poles diffidently would have helped. How ever Some folks do not have a clew about these new electric awnings and also probably newbies. The pole system works great even for high winds but here again one has to use good judgment also as to leaving out in bad weather. Later RJD

I was thinking the same thing. In the pic of the Fuzion, it looks like the poles would still be there had they been installed.

I'm actually a big proponent of the poles and would like to get some myself eventually, but if the awning is going to rip away from the trailer itself, there's not much you can do.

My point exactly. Not knock'en them but poles aren't going to stop it from bowing and filling with water. They all failed to give the water a route of escape. The material can only hold so much. You have to angle it.

To be fair to Turbs, it's easy enough to angle the awning and still use the poles. You just have to set one lower than the other.

But the wind can still blow enough to tear the awning away from the trailer. Especially if it's been weakened by the pinholes they all seem to develop over the years. At that point the poles only keep the anwing from blowing across the CG.

I think the poles would also limit the amount of damage from movement to the structure prior to the fabric letting go. I used my poles in heavy rain (no heavy wind) with one side lowered and the water ran off fine.

Awesome! I wonder where they will leave them (this is always so fun with the post office) They won't fit in the mailbox, so its either my front porch or I'll get one of those orange tags to go pick them up. I hope they are on the porch, the local post office is NOT the best.....

Will keep you posted.

With the poles, you can also use de-flapper poles to keep the awning material from whipping and flopping which is what tears things up. The pictures only show one de-flapper on each end, I now have 2 for each end which I will use in FL this winter.

For our 2 week road trip, I was the only one in our caravan that had their awning out all the time. The GTown triple poles worked great plus I got free installation at the factory and stayed at their "Lost Wheel Campground" for free!

How long is the inner bottom tube or is it solid rod?

It doesn't look like it, but the poles are extended beyond 11' and the straps are 14' long. That's why my Georgetown needs triple poles.

Apparently I was living right today.....pulled up at 615pm and the mail carrier was still putting mail out at our boxes, so I stopped and asked her about my package, she said yep, she had one big long box! Showed her my ID, which luckily matched. . Off I went home with my poles. Excellently packed, I may add. Will try to install this weekend if our spot allows us to extend the awning.

Were there some directions? I remember seeing them somewhere online.....
