Which end of the outside pole is the top? I'm guessing the end with the hole closest to the end.

Look at post 2 and zoom in on my pictures of the poles in use.
You'll see how I put the heat shrink on .
Every 3 or four holes.
You should have enough to put 5 1/2" pieces on each lower pole.

Thanks again for the poles and getting me straight, I appreciated talking to you. You and OC should go into business together on these things they are really worth every penny. You could team up and become "OC Turbs INC" (I figured OC would want top billing).  I can't wait to get these mounted and replace the old painter poles. Excellent work, well done!!

Well I ran my local hardware store out of upper poles, and I refuse to buy from big box.
I've got 6 sets of lowers done and I have enough uppers to do 4 more sets.
They'll have more materials next Tuesday.

Awning Poles Installed!!! I'm not going to paint them until I decide if I'm going to keep this camper or upgrade to something without canvass. They look great even without paint; much better than my rusting painter poles!

I've got a member inquiring in "aluminum" poles.
Is there any other interest in having aluminum poles over the emt?
Price is over double of what I can make the emt poles for.

I'm not sure I understand the advantage of aluminum poles over the emt except perhaps the weight. I don't really see the weight as a big factor since they only seem to weigh a couple of pounds each.
