Thank-you OC.
Two thumbs up
No inquiries as of now. So glad they worked for you. Thanks again.

No poles, but I do have the Awning Pole Attaching Kits. Suggest using painter telescoping alum poles from Lowes/Home Depot. They have them 6'-12' which would fit the bill nicely.

OC, spent the day working on the trailer to get ready for starting our season soon. I had previously painted both set of brackets and got them installed today. Attached the poles to get the "travel position" holes drilled and then painted the outer poles as well as the inner poles that are exposed above the outer poles when completely collapsed. I painted everything gloss white and they look great against the awning arms.

Very much appreciate your work on this project. They look great and your craftsmanship is exceptional. Can't wait to show them off! Thanks again.

How soon before you have the poles again? I heard you are making another big batch of them.

No more poles, just the attaching kit to attach your own poles. Easier to use the 6'-12' alum telescoping painter poles from Lowes/Home Depot, etc.

Alum tubing is getting too expensive and too hard to find and the last batch I made and shipped, UPS tore up several tubes and lost the parts & poles out of more than one. Still have to make one pole assembly when the tubing gets here to replace one that UPS is storing whereabouts unknown to them or anyone else. Had to ship several replacement brackets, etc. that were lost also. Besides that, I'm just too lazy to make anymore.

y'all???? nuh uh! *he* did it all! It took a while longer than it normally would because he had to shorten the inner poles to make them line up correctly against the side wall. The awning over the slider is mounted very low and the poles would have hung down lower than the wheel skirting. They *do* look great! Can't wait to show 'em off.

While he finished up this evening I bought groceries and stocked 'er up! got the ribeyes dry rubbed and vacuum packed *He* still has to pick up the Gentleman Jack and Bloody Mary mix.

We're actually leaving out Thursday morning instead of tomorrow evening....I had a senior moment and got my dates mixed up. I'm glad...we won't be setting up at dark this way.

OC, I gotta say it...the way you made these "self storing" is sheer genius.

We walked out to lock 'er down for the night (weather coming tomorrow) and I told DH that they look so natural they become part of the design of the RV siding and awning arms.

Question; the bottoms of the poles wiggle a bit inside the bracket and may rattle some while in transit, what did you do to prevent that? I was thinking a rubber washer on each side of the pole, inside the retaining pin, would work. Or maybe a short piece if clear tubing, like aquarium air line, slid on to the pole on either side of the pin?

Could use some of the fuzzy side Velcro in the brackets or poles.

Thanks for the comments. Just hope they meet your expectations.

Shoulda known you'd come up with a better idea. I've got a whole roll of Velcro tape here....voila! Quiet ridin'!

And they already HAVE met our expectations! I did a search a bit ago to find this thread and the search threw up some eBay listings for "awning pole kits".....blech....yours put those to shame.

We still have to pick up the earth anchors, but those can be found just about anywhere...I know they have 'em at WalMart or Fred's.
