Because I furnish my phone no. with each set in the instructions, I would have thought I would have been contacted immediately either by phone, pm or on the forum.

It's obvious he must have had his awning deployed during a hurricane or failed to use tie downs. 100's of others use O.C.'s kits on a regular basis in high winds and I've never heard a single account of them failing to perform above expectations.

I've had my awning out with de-flappers and OC hold down, inadvertently, in 45+ wind gusts to no ill affect.

Have to call "user error" on that one.

I don't own the awning poles personally. I find it highly unlikely they would cause an issue. If there is really a complaint I would suggest the person who had issues post about it.
With this logic using a Surge Suppressor and you trailer catches fire they deny the claim because of using a safety device.

I can only speculate that those poles were anchored down with tent stakes instead of earth augers to have an awning fail with the pole setup...

That was my thinking also, and the reason I asked the previous question. I know your engineering/design background, and as such you would want to know about any failures, to see if it was design or user initiated.

Unless it's confirmed as design, and/if the actual user of these bracket/poles confirms such.....then it's nothing to be concerned with. No need for anyone to get upset either or start any kind of bashing. We'll just leave it as an unconfirmed rumor until proven as a fact.

brackets

OC, I'll take a set. How can I go wrong buying something with a 99.9% approval rating?

If installed and used properly you'll not have a problem "supposedly" as suggested previously ....

Other then my Progressive EMS-50WHC the Awning hold down kit brackets and poles are the 2 best things I have purchased for my Wildcat. Going on 3 seasons. Thanks OC for your engineering with out this kit you would have to put the awning away for the slightest breeze.

Forgive me if it has been asked and answered already (136 pages is a lot to look through), but will these work on power awnings? Any warranty concerns if I attach these on a new camper?
