OC/Turbs - do the poles help with the wind grabbing the awning and snapping it? I notice the automatic awning on the 5er is a lot more vulnerable to the wind than my old Jayco's manual deployed one, which I could further stabilize with de-flappers.

The poles will stop the banging you hear from the wind. I highly recommend them. I will have the brackets in goshen if your going, and if you get a hold of Turbs I can bring the poles up for you. It is really the only way to go. I been in 35mph winds with them out. No more banging......

the link below may be just what you're looking for to use de-flappers, the improved version is shown in post #30 and #31 of that thread, ......we're in a campground right now using the de-flapper rail for the first time after completing the mod installation and had a severe rain and wind last night and all is well

mod for using de-flappers on elect. awning

If anyone wants the attaching kit before Nashville, let me know. You should also pm TURBS and he can bring the poles.

While I am using Old coots poles, I can't believe how great these things work. gusts of wind that has everyone else putting their awnings in while we sit in the cooler shade Def makes DW happy.

Couldn't recommend these more!!!
