I have both the Claws and the dirt screws. I will try the Claws in the FL sand next week, but don't think they will hold very good. I carry an 12" pc of 1-1/4" wooden dowel to use as a handle for turning the dirt screws.

Man, I can't believe you guys are headed to FL already. Time flies! Please do post about how the Claw does in the FL sand. I've pitched all of my dirt screws.

I used a long screw driver to drive them into the ground but broke the heads off of 2 or 3 before I stopped using it.

If anyone wants to give DH or DW a useful Christmas gift, an Awning Pole attaching kit would be perfect. Only have a few left and we are for sure leaving for FL Sat 21Nov, so you only have 3 days left to order them. Next chance to order will be in Mar 2016.

We have the kit. We are wintering in Texas this year and put an additional room on the awning. THANK GOD that we DO have the tie down kit. We had a severe storm last night. The trailer was rocking and rolling with the storm. In the morning guess what was still standing..... The awning and room made it. without the awning kits from O.C. they would have been gone with the wind.
Thank you O.C. for such a great product.

Well, I got energetic today(1st time in a long time) and with TOWTA's help, we made up 12 kits to take to FL with us just in case someone down there wants a kit, someone on the forum or take them to the Kissimmee Rally in Jan2016.

Leaving a bunch of work on the table hoping someone will process them while we're gone. I did get the 88 "break out" burrs ground off the lower brackets which are ready to drill, still have 88 upper brackets to grind off the "break out" burr off.

Also washed TOWTA's old junker again today and put it's nightgown and battery tender on for the next few months.

I can vouch for OC's awning hold down kit.
I have a kit and don't even have an awning......................or a trailer...............yet.
My trailer is still a pile o non-assembled crap out in Millersburg.

You don't need an awning, or a trailer, to get the kit.
