OC,
I know you can't make the rally, but if you still have them by July; (and Laura is traveling by then) you can ship them to me and I will take them to the Goshen Rally for you.
Once folks see them "deployed" I am sure they will disappear.
Herk

Ms. Laura will be ready I'm sure and thanks, Herk, I appreciate the offer and if I still have them, I'll ship them to you.

OC,
We *finally* were able to fully utilize both sets, complete with anchors and ratchet straps.
Goof GRIEF Charlie Brown those things make the awnings SOLID and secure!
Yeah, I've got pics ( so yes, it did happen ) and will post them either tonight or tomorrow.

We got gusts of wind last evening around 30 MPH and they didn't even wiggle.
I told DH; once those anchors and ratchet straps are on the whole system locks solid like a four walled building.

Yep, they work WELL. I'll admit we forgot to drop one side of the awnings lower for rain run off. Won't forget that next time.
We saw a couple of other RVs with their awnings strapped down to earth anchors, but NOBODY had nice poles and bracket systems like we did!
We're special.

The poles also solve another problem I had; my awning lights.
They're miniature glass mason jars that I made into light globes for an LED string of 60 lights. When all strung on the light string it becomes HEAVY. The poles supporting the awning makes that a non issue.

Got the brackets on - finally. Too many things to do now the weather is decent.
Top....
Bottom...
Haven't picked up the poles yet.... that'll happen this week.
Thanks, OC, for a quality product!

The self-storing aspect of your design is what makes it pure genius, OC.
Putting down the earth anchors has become my job. It gives me something to do while he's busy with water, sewer and power line connections, etc. The ratchet straps I leave to HIM...I'll be danged if I can figger out how those stinkin' things work! And yep, he's tried to show me on various things many times....my brain just goes into "hmmm ok, we'll leave that up to him" mode.

OC, what do you need for the set? Me and the wife just bought our first TT and it feels great, but I know with the auto awning it needs some support.

I have a Lippert power awning on my Greywolf 26dbh. How much would a set cost and would it be a complete kit?

Awning pole hold down kit
For those who can't get the poles but can get the brackets... I modified paint roller extension poles that I bought from Lowe's. I used them once this year and, so far, they have worked out very well.
