We're about to add "self retracting" ratchet straps to ours, so there'll be no more rolling up the straps for storage.
Smart Straps Retractable Ratchet Tie-Downs 6ft.L, 1500-Lb. Capacity, 4-Pack, Green, Model# 468 | Ratchet Tie-Down Straps| Northern Tool + Equipment

(thanks OC for finding some *much* cheaper than the ones we were about to buy...they were twice as much as these)

To all of you still considering (I know who you are, I was one of ya'll until recently), I can say that these work! We just got back from our first weekend out since I installed the poles. On Saturday night, a storm blew threw the campground. Normally I'd have to roll the awning in for that kind of storm. Instead, she didn't even budge.

And to top it all off, thanks to these, I was able to keep our original dinner plans.

Ham steaks, Baked Potatoes and Corn on the Cob, in a downpour, all thanks to not having to roll my awning up.

Thanks OC!

X eleventy Kaadk.

We had a couple of hellish storms while in PF. No racing out to remove awning lights in the wind and lightning with our awning poles in place. Both awnings (tilted for runoff) were solid as a 4 walled room.

That was the 2nd night...we got lazy when we first arrived and didn't deploy the poles...so (sigh) yeah, on afternoon one I had to do the run-out-remove-awning-lights-and-retract-awnings-dash. My awning lights are glass miniature replicas of an 1800s Mason jar salesman's sample...broke one in my rush. Thankfully I bought extras.
