And the first time you insert the pins the paint/primer is gone. Your neighbors don't even want to be you neighbor.

PVC poles don't need the paint/primer to keep from rusting. GEEEZE!

What is the reason you heat and close 3" of the end of the smaller tube to 1"? Fit inside one of the brackets?

Yes, you are correct, so it will fit in the upper brackets.

That's alright
Over time aluminum dulls and will oxidize and pvc will fade and get brittle
