I've been vacationing in FL since 22Nov15 until 23Feb16. DA DA DA DA DA I don't take my drill presses with me.

I got every thing done on the six sets of poles except getting the 2-3/8" pads welded on the outer poles.

Got a lot of work ahead of me with forming and bead blasting 104 upper and lower brackets.

Tubing thickness.

Question for pole guys....we have electric awning now but wish it was old school manual awning

Can you put those brackets that come on the manual awnings that hook to the bottom of the camper or can be unhooked to use your awning poles straight up and down instead of foot pads with ratchet straps?

We have a seasonal spot with a deck and we had those wall brackets bolted to the deck with our old manual awning to unhook from camper and use uprights...did not use any ratchet straps just locked them into deck bracket

Mine have 2-3/8" dia pads welded to the bottom pole that could have holes drilled in them and screwed to the deck or make a special bracket to slip them in.

Question about using weight as anchor

If one was camping at a campground that had asphalt/ concrete that left no place to use a claw anchor or a screw anchor, how much weight does anyone think would it take to 'do the job"? Would a 5 gallon bag of water work? I would think you would have to put it very close to the foot of the pole so it it wouldn't get dragged around. Or instead of using the tether just raw weight on the bottom of the pole.

Got the 104 bottom brackets formed and ready to bead blast. Will form the 104 upper brackets tomorrow and start to work on the bead blast cabinet. Going to add an exhaust fan to the outside to try to eliminate or reduce the dust.

A bunch of people use just that in our campground... too much granite ledge underground to get anything in the ground.

Got the fan installed, vent thru the sidewall of the garage and all hooked up. Bead blasted 4 upper brackets and the fan does make a difference in the dust. Also keeps the heat down from the 2 flood lights in the cabinet and eliminates any dust blowing out in the garage. Should make TOWTA a little happier with less dust on her old junker.

That kind of dust usually scratches paint.
