OK thanks. I do not have the poles yet. But I was not sure if they were drill able without destroying the telescoping part.

More info. I think I was able to take a screw out and remove the large end with the painter screw adapter that screws into a painter pole. On the bottom end I had to remove about 8 inches or so of the inner pole in order to have the pole fit into the bottom support, or bracket. I had to do some disassembly on the pole in order to cut that inner off. None of this work involved jeopardizing the telescopic part.

If ya need more help when you get your parts call for help here or PM me.

Hello OC,
I’m interested in 2 sets of black brackets for my two awnings. I was thinking about using modified painters poles as well. Thanks in advance.

When will you have the black powder coated brackets again? I would like them by August but not critical. Also I read an old(er) retired Fire Captain can get a discount?

No more black powder coated ones available now or in the future. Only have ready to paint and 4 white. Yes, you get the discount.

Ok. No problem. I’ll take 2 sets of the “ready to paint” brackets then. I’ll paint or powder coat them myself. What will be the cost and I will PP payment. Thanks!

I just made my poles using black Schedule 40 PVC. $50 delivered from Home Depot.

Normally you use the bolt that holds the head on for the top screw for the bracket.

Thanks OC I see a lot of people seem to have a second bolt for the bracket. WD had 2 in his. Mine looks like a big Philips screw. Thanks
