I think he means to use the ratchet type cargo bars as poles.

Me? I can't get my mindset off of "well wouldn't a little flexibility help prevent tearing something up if we're away from the RV and a big wind hits"?

So, the springs will be taking up space in the "everything else" drawer in the RV. Mark my word, some day they'll be just what we need for some other issue that comes up.
HAHA You are sooo funny! Are you guys coming to Goshen? Love to meet you two!

Nope, not goin' to Goshen, but we're in the planning stages of going to NC (Arden) in the fall, and ain't no way we're goin' that close to OC and TOWTA without meetin' up with them!

(gotta have a "set-to" with Ms. Frankie so she can teach me how to get my man to admit I'm TOWTA too!)

Do you mean TOWTA #2 or TOWTA also?

What does TOWTA stand for? I've been trying to figure that out for some time now.

I'm driving back from Florida to Texas and just saw a set of OC's awning pole tie downs on a 5th wheel off of I-10 in Vidor, Texas. Way to go OC.

Hi OC. Here's a testament to your awning pole and bracket design. Had a really severe wind and rain storm go thru our campground yesterday afternoon. 4 awnings were destroyed. We had a river flowing underneath the trailer but the awning stayed right where it was supposed to! Here's a pic I took during the storm...

Nope, just can't say enough about the awning poles. My bro' (who lost his awning btw) thought those awning poles and brackets came with the trailer and were standard.....

OC is amazing! Except the stinker didn't "brand" his pin box mount and his ladder mount (aka LH thingamajig*) for our satellite dish with D&D!

The LH thingamajig (holy moley, now spell check likes that word) is about 3 ft. long. He kicked in to "engineer brain mode" and was able to use a box that looks to be about 12" square to ship it in. Totally disassembled that box and wrapped it around a 3 ft. long item! Must have used at least 2 rolls of shipping tape on it, but by golly it made it here totally intact.

I told him I'd be good and not post a picture of the packaging, so I'm keeping my word by simply describing it.

DH is threatening to write D&D in big letters on both items with a black sharpie pen. Of course, when I pointed out he didn't put his brand on ours, he went out and PUT his brand on his two adapter/mounts and is sending me nanna nanna na nas. pppfffffttttt

*inside joke; "you made it for a ladder on the left back of an RV and ours is on the right!" Told him we'd just flip our RV over. Of course it's actually usable on either ladder, but now he refers to it as the LH thingamajig just to tweak me.

Haven't had the chance to try 'em out yet, since Buffy's still at the dealer's for warranty work, just checked, everything is done except they're waiting on a new clock (hour had was messed up) , and a new window (that little one in the stairway hall) that had two stress cracks (frame was warped) to come in from the factory.

We've had people say the same. The way they self store makes them appear to be factory.

And, of course, his very professional construction as well.

I'm expecting any day now to read that he's modifying his 5er again...widening the entry door.

No can do. They bought our popup last year. It had one of those bag type awnings. He had the vertical poles staked down but I think the wind was so strong it pulled something loose and down it came. Their first real camping trip......he was relieved that they weren't there when it happened.

Someone here on the forum said he could make a satellite dish from a tuna fish can.....it wouldn't surprise me at all.

How's the poles coming along? When will they be ready? Are you bringing any with you to Goshen?
