Weezer and Sneak's stuff looks fantabulous! We're SO appreciative of his add-ons. I keep tellin' him "the words THANK YOU, though we've said 'em over and over and over, simply aren't enough".
And FTR, he and Ms Frankie both give GREAT ((((((hugs)))))).

Yes, who is John Galt? We are all John Galt, Sneak and I hope to be John Galt.
I like you already and I've never met ya, Herk.

Thanks. I didn't know the plans were available. I'll get right on it.

One word, OC: prophetic Even the date on the movie premier is no accident.
BTW, Sneak and I met a nice couple from North Alabama last evening. They toured our 5er and we toured their Jayco 5er. Holy smokes!, compared to that big honker they own, ours is sorta "meh...that's cute". Sheesh I think our bedroom would fit in their pass through storage, which is...ahem....air conditioned.
However, would we trade with 'em? NYET!
BUT, Sneak gave the guy a show-and-tell re your awning poles. They got our contact info and we may have an order for ya on the brackets.
After all the mentions of build dates I went out and checked ours a bit ago;
October 2, 2013 WEDNESDAY!

Well, got the 52 upper and lower brackets cleaned on both sides, broken out of the sheet, "break off tab" ground off, 468 holes drilled and 416 chamfered. 520 holes left to chamfer then 52 upper brackets and 52 lower brackets to form, beadblast, stamp and 26 bags to pack with brackets, hardware and instructions. Might get it done this weekend. Also have to mow my 15 blades of grass and 1.48 A of weeds before taking off to TOWTA's reunion.

Laura loves it and knows the significance.

YEP, that's IT! Laura and I need to get together for a "hers and hers" photo op!
No precious metals involved, but when I'm not wearing mine it's in the safe. It's what it stands for that is precious to me (and to Sneak).
Sneak is again setting up a group of friends to go to the 09/12 showing together.

Awning pole hold down kit

By my calculations, after lobbing the flared end off, I'd be left with about 117". Dividing that by two I'll end up with two outer poles at 58-1/2" each in length instead of the 60" in length as specified in the drawings. I went ahead and cut them that way, first at 58-1/2, then again at 58-1/2 to account for the blade thickness. The second cut was right where the flare started so it looks like I got the most of a single pole I could.
Do you foresee any issue with that 1-1/2" discrepancy? I don't think it'll make much of a difference since the ones I saw at the rally weren't anywhere close to full extension, but I'd like to be sure.
|
We'll, I got the project (mostly) finished. It's just missing a coat of paint, but the DW doesn't let me paint so that'll have to wait for her to get fed up with grey poles.
Old Coot told me to put a cap on the bottom to act as the feet, but they were out of stock. Instead, I found these meter hub connections that I thought would act like a great foot for the poles.
Even with the foot turned in towards the trailer the foot still has clearance.
Thanks OC, I appreciate your guidance and I can't wait to try them out at a campsite.
