If you look back through the thread you will find a number of options for poles.. as well as detailed diagrams, instructions and photos.

Looks like a distribution centre could be opened in Iwoa. Turbs could manage fulfillment for OC. Just like Amazon!

Yeah, but Turbs would have to go get them from OC in NC. Cause we all know OC won't ship them.

And that would present a problem as NC has a strict law against letting scofflaw Iowegians enter our fair state.

[QUOTE=OldCoot;804272]Used pvc sewer pipe with plywood ends pop riveted in and taped and UPS still managed to destroy some. Easy solution is to NOT ship.

Just glue pvc caps on both ends, customer can cut it open. No coming apart there.

I used painter pads screwed into the poles for a good stable base.

Here are the poles that I got form Home Depot. They have 4'-8' one's, but I didn't like the possibility of useing them at the fully extended 8' position all the time. So I went with these. I like these because I think that they are easier to adjust verses the twist and lock ones. They adjust in 6" increments, just like the legs on the portable shelters. I have yet to mount them though, do to the weather.

Yep. I use these. I drilled extra holes every 2". Gets better adjustment resolution. I removed the acme style screw end part ( for the paint roller) and machined my own new end piece to attach to the brackets I made. You can always just drill a cross hole through that cast threaded piece on the end of the pole instead.

Can you take a picture of how you did this and post it on the forum? I am thinking of doing this mod since I am not able to get them from Old Coot. You can get the telescoping painter poles at any paint center as well. What are you using to attached them to the ground?

Update, I still have one set of poles (1# total heavier than standard) and 11 sets of bracket kits.

Pulled the camper out of storage last night and I just installed the new poles today. They look so much better then the poles I made from PVC last fall. Great work OldCoot and a big thank you for making these available.

Did you get the poles from OC too? If not, where did you get them?
