FR Outside Gas Grill

I just bought a 2013 FR 2503S. It did not come with the gas grill that attaches outside to the rail. I would like to buy one or hear about other grill options that you have used. Thanks.

Mine didn't have the rail on the outside so I created one to mount on the rear bumper. Bought a slightly used sidekick for 70 on eBay with bracket and had one of my friendly "constructors" weld together the aluminum pieces.

Is this what your referring too? Mine came with the trailer and I was contemplating taking it off and selling it because I have a weber q that I normally use. But I just did our first trip and decided to try it so I cooked some steaks on it.

Really it is not a bad grill, It will cook you dinner. I have seen stainless steel one's that are prettier but a barbq is a barbq is just that some people can cook over an open firer pit and it will come out better then the most expensive barbq's. And a 400.00 one will not make anything taste any better. Now with that said if you want a good steak then go to Ruth Chris steak house.

I kept the sidekick grill from my old camper to my new one which didn't have the grill bracket either.
I already had the propane quick conect for my outside stove top burner so I just purchased the bracket.
We use the little grill all the time.

mine is sitting in the garage, never used. i too use a weber Q 120 ... which is an awesome grill, can do anything from toasting grilled cheeze sandwiches to smoking ribs, to fast cooking a nice thick steak ..
Im a big BBQ/smoke guy .. so i need good tools.

Most of us 'common' folk can't afford Ruth Chris' Steak House.

But, they do have fabulous steaks.

I have a 365 saq sandpiper and it came with a grill and swing arm. Its sitting on the garage floor. The cheap grills that come on these rvs are JUNK. I have seen one brand maybe the Columbus or chaparral come with a weber with is a good grill. My camping buddy has one and it performs great! I personally love the green egg. I put a mini on my rv. The food quality is far superior to any grill out there and a huge food quality difference. To the original posters question I would purchase a good quality grill and not look for one that hangs on the side of the rv

Ya know I have eaten at Ruth Cris' many a time (thank you business per diem! )

Not....bad In fact, quite good BUT...I would never pay for one with my own money - I can do better with a steak on my Komodo! (Which works on the same principle as the Ruth Chris' broilers. BTW )

Now....if I could just figure out a way to get a dozen or so of those suckers to Goshen we could have ourselves a real steak-out!

Thanks...

Thanks to all who posted.

I am going to hold out for a grill that mounts to the original factory rail.

Some have a rail mounted right on the side of the camper. I also made a bracket for a tv and mount it on the rail also.

We have been to Ruth Chris steak house just twice. Great steaks and atmosphere and only for very special occasions. Our little side grill does a good enough job for us and save the $$$ for fuel & camping. Every cookout for us now is a special occasion.

Been there 3 or 4 times, all either on a 'supplier's' dime or on expense acct. I don't think there is anything on the menu that isn't delicious. Just a little pricey for most of us po' folks.
