I have an old Ready Brute Tow bar with the built in surge brake...works fine. Has the Blue Ox connectors on it. Located in Livingston, TX, $50

I have that same setup. It's fantastic.

It can be used with just about any baseplate but since he says it comes with a BlueOx, it would be best to find that brand baseplate to fit the vehicle you intend to tow.

This tow bar has an integrated "surge brake" so no need to purchase a separate braking system.

FWIW: the tow bar hooks into the RV receiver hitch 2". the arms on the bar hook to the attach points on the baseplate which is permanently attached to the towed car.

Depending on your "toad", it can be a project to install the baseplate and braking cables but I did it on the driveway in two days and a couple of beers.
