What do you mean they don't collapse?

All 3 legs come together so you would have about a 1" diameter X length of tripod with exception the top would be about 4" wide.

I think he was referring to collapsing lengthwise.

I don't see that as a problem, as even the highest model would fit in the back of a shortbox truck, or easily in the pass-through storage bay in any camper.
Looks pretty slick.

I could make you one that would collapse length wise if you want. Could make it collapse in half or more if you desire. I could cut the legs in half then use some iron pipe as sleeves with some wing bolts as set screws to hold it all together. Would be more money though. Let me know if that is something you would want.

Kind of what I thought too. However, each person has in mind what they would like, or a specific place in mind to put something that these may not fit. After thinking about it came up with a solution to fit Turbs needs if he would like one that way. I kind of like the idea of a more collapsible model myself. Could use and old collapsible chair bag for a bag to put the tripod in or who knows what some of the creative minds may come up with.

Good idea, however where we camp for 3-4 months in FL they have banned all fires and we don't cook on open fires anymore due to scarcity of wood and can't take it state to state. We use to have fires all the time @ Knoxville, IA and even carried a chainsaw with us to cut up dead trees, branches, etc. which helped the groundskeeper.
