Best choice GPS when RVing?

I run both the Garmin Drive Smart 61 LMT-S and a Montana 650t.
I find that both get me where I want to go. Fun fact; one will have roads that the other doesn't.

My Garmin RV 780 arrived today. I'll be using it for a trip next week. I hope it was worth it.

Just got mine, as well. Got it set up and looking forward to trouble free routing.

First trip with 780 completed. So far, so good. Was not able to check out low bridge feature because we simply didn't encounter one. Pairing it with the phone adds useful weather ABC's traffic and traffic camera features. Peary happy so far.

I use a Rand McNally 7730 with Life time maps that are free update. This is my second unit in 10 years and I have had great results with this unit. The unit will allow you to switch between RV and non-RV. In the RV mode this will allow you to enter parameters such as height, weight, total length, NO. and size of propane tanks, no U-turns and non dirt roads and so forth. So, far I have never been directed incorrectly when using my Rand McNally GPS. This unit will warn you of state boarder crossing, tolls, low bridge height and over weight on bridges.

Well, I’m dying to try this Rand McNally.

Our automobile Garmin tried to take us through a corn field on the way to the RV museum in Elkhart. And then, the other Pitch Black Night, it tried to drive me into Lake Huron via a boat ramp.

We use everything, but paper maps aren’t detailed enough.

What model Garmin and do you keep the maps and software up to date with Garmin Express?

Obviously if all Garmins or (insert brand) did that no one would ever buy a GPS.

Unfortunately GPS relies on very weak radio signals from satellites thousands of miles away so they are susceptible to interference and signal degradation. And jamming by idiots.

It's a Nuvi 57 and I update it every 3 months, I put it on the calendar so I don't forget. Last time just the other day. I wouldn't leave home without a GPS but they drive me crazy.
