Garmin rv 660 lmt

So, had a very lengthy conversation with the support center at garmin. My issue with the propane warnings did not get resolved! They tried to convince me that the warning was normal and was part of the cautions and advisories design and also dependent on the road you are on.
Imagine if you will driving down an interstate somewhere in the Midwest where there are no restrictions on propane to be turned off (I.e. a tunnel) and having your gps flashing a warning every minute or so “ turn off propane “ for say 6-8 hours of driving without the ability to cancel the warning. Would this seem normal to you??
I asked to speak to a supervisor, he replied let me check with another tech. He came back saying that’s normal depending on the route your driving. I replied is it normal for the warning to come on even if the check box for the propane warning is unchecked or for that matter even if there is no route selected? After approximately an hour of debate he finally agreed there was a problem with the unit. At this point in time he was quite frazzled and apologetic, wanted to send me a new unit but couldn’t figure out how to do it.
He asked where I purchased the unit, I replied Costco. His reply was to return the unit to Costco 😳 whaaat? I bought it about 35 days ago, keeping my fingers crossed.
Now after the lengthy conversation I sit back and begin to doubt myself, what if I’m missing something? So back in the car, wife driving we go for another drive. Have all the profile set up for my RV as if I were making a real trip. Barely make it to the highway I get my first warning, get on the highway drive about a kilometre another warning, this continues for another 15-20 kilometres. Not good, unchecked the box for the propane warning and canceled route, turn around to go home, no route selected, warnings continue. While she is driving I remove the propane tanks from the RV profile, all good now!😕 nice feature this propane warning, not!!
I believe the warning should come on prior to entering a tunnel or prior to boarding a ferry or some other geographic location where having propane tanks open would be prohibited.
Has anybody else experienced the same frustration? If you have an garmin RV 660 LMT and you have the latest software version 3.90 check to see if you get the same warnings? I believe after version 3.30 garmin inserted these 9 cautions and advisories. Long rant thanks for reading.

I heard 2nd hand from a Garmin employee in Kansas that the 660 is obsolete and no longer available, although updates are available for it. In fact, if you DRIVE to their location in Olathe, KS and go in, they'll refurb it for you.......or they did for another guy I know.

The 660 apparently has an Elevation Graph feature I wish was on my 760, but it's not.

We just returned from a 12 day trip to Tn. with a new rv660lmt. Not very happy with the unit. both campgrounds we stayed at were on the other side of the road causing a missed turn and a u turn. While we have it set for rv and no dirt roads it tried to drag us down more than a few dirt roads. It is really hard to trust this unit. Not what I was hoping for.

Only one problem with my old 760 in many years. The cord to update no longer will fit in the unit, pins misaligned. Doubt anyone fixes these so not sure what I'll do.

Still using my RV 760, still can't find enough of a reason to get (ie: justify to the wife) a newer version. I used to travel to Paint Lake (Mb Provincial Park just south of Thompson Mb.

Using https://www.poi-factory.net/login ..... POI Factory, I had the best available camping destinations.

Garmin had no idea where Watchorn campground was (that's OK as I'm not returning to the getto CG) ….. Camping Canada POI Factory knew exactly where it was - 15 km down Manitoba's dustiest gravel road.

Garmin was OFF by 3 km or so (it's down the same road) where Paint Lake CG was.

Thank God for POI Factory as it knew (I was worried for a while - picture narrow gravel road, no turn off's, no side roads, NO SIGNS. But POI/F found Hobbs Resort and Campground just north of Grand Rapids (BTW I highly recommend this place). We were sweating it and considering backing our 5th the 3 or so Km's that we had proceeded - (no cell service, no Google, no off line maps). Thanks Garmin 760 + POI/F.

I still have my RV 760 and really like it BUT no longer able to insert the cord to do updates. Another year and then maybe the newer 770.
