Adding a second thumbs up to the x2. I have nicknamed mine the Death Star and I spend as much time staring at it do its thing as I do watching tv. It is very cool as it acquires the satellites...looks like it is about to fire on an unsuspecting planet.

I have found that it regularly gets only 2 of 3 satellites when not in optimal locations but I can usually fix that with some adjustment and rescan. After 12 years with directv I am really enjoying dish quite a bit. Everything seems well thought out and intuitive as far as the hopper and the 211z is very straightforward. I have not yet had cause to fire the Death Star at the eastern satellite but appreciate the option.

My biggest concern was the added size over the tailgater but I bought a storage bag on cw and the size is a non factor...still easy to transport.

X3. Store mine in the shower when traveling. Had it a year and like it a lot compared to Tailgater which worked once. Fortunately, I bought the TG from Camping World and bought the warranty. Mine died so I bought this unit. GREAT. Use Western satellites as well.

Great idea to store in the shower...I think I will do the same. That makes the larger size a non issue.

The X2 runs circles around the Tailgator, I tried both.

I will say after seeing the new tailgater I am shocked by how much smaller it is. If space is at a premium and you don't mind the reduced performance it is a pretty compelling contender. The x2 is quite bulky, but the storage bag does help.
