Valterra sewer solution
Just learned about this product at the Hershey Pa RV show today. Reviews seam good, appears to have mostly good feedback. At under $ 100.00 it's not a big risk to try, but before I do wanted to see if anyone has used one and general feedback. I'm mostly thinking at home to empty, even though that would be rare. However I'm wondering if i might use it more than the stinky, if it works ...

Had one for years, and I actually only do use it at home, where I dump into my own septic system.
It works as advertised, and you can reverse the jet to clean out the pipe/tank somewhat.
However, this is time consuming, more so than just dumping with a big sewer hose. Your camping buddies behind you in line at the dump station, may not appreciate this.
One other thing to be aware of, is you have to hook it to a water hose. Many dump stations are missing the threaded end on their hose, or it's bent, damaged, etc.
You would need some kind of quick fix kit to connect your sewer solution to their damaged water hose, or carry your own hose to connect to the camps dump station faucet...which you may or may not be able to do.
Again, if you have campers behind you, they are not going to be liking you.
At home, like I use it, it's all good. You will like it.

After looking at the videos I am wondering why one would choose this method? Your going to refill and flush the black tank anyhow right?

here we go again!! ........ I have to smile ( ) at the folks who have never used the SS but are experts on the subject and react in such a way as to say "it's a stupid gadget and anyone who can't see that must have rocks in their head"....... the Sewer Solution is simply a macerator system WITHOUT the mechanical pump that jams and the $250 price tag!.. hello?..... you would never criticize the macerator system on a $250,000. MH, you might even marvel at it,.. hello? ....... sure, it's best to use a short slinky at a dump station and move on, just like everyone else should, but at a FHU site what's your beef? SS does the same thing any other macerator pump system does, just in a different way, so what's your beef? ..... a "real" macerator system would never draw your disdain like the SS does, why is that? ..... since the macerator system is very common on the high class MH, there must be some advantage to it, wouldn't you think? ..... well, the SS offers those same advantages, BECAUSE IT IS A MACERATOR SYSTEM, w/out the price tag of the "real" one, ..... been using my SS for over three years, trouble free, does a "real" one work that long w/out any problems, does your slinky last three years before you have to replace it?, .... I don't know and don't care,....... and I don't care how you move your poop, why do you criticize how I move mine? .........
that man's video is not a real world application ........

Those videos that are posted above are not real world examples of the elbows found on tank pipes. His videos have comments disabled so that we can't tell him that.
He adds elbows and fittings to give poor results.

I have one and use it regularly.
I have had it for over 10 years. Bought way back when Sewer Solutions was an independent company.
Bought it when I got my Airstream because the dump port was very low to the ground and a couple of campgrounds that we frequented the sewer hookup in the campsite was higher than the dump port. I also use it at home for the same reason. I use a sewer clean out on my main septic line as a hookup, it is uphill from where I park the camper.
The good part is that it works as advertised, it will pump waste uphill, and it doesn't leave a mess behind if you use it as directed.
The bad news is it takes water and it is relatively slow so using it at a dump station isn't really feasible.
I like mine and use it regularly. I do carry a 10' section of stinky slinky for the times I do have to use a dump station.

I have had one for about 2 years now. During our first season as RV owners, we encountered multiple camp grounds that had their sewer (specifically talking about the site) elevated above the outlet at the camper. So in order to dump, you had to keep walking the slinky to the sewer. The SS allows you to go uphill. We use it everytime we have full hook ups. But I do still have the slinky in the event we need to use the dump station. So far, I have no bad things to say about it.
