You do need to remember one thing... this unit, nor any wifi extender, will make a slow signal any faster... you are at the mercy of the wifi you are connected to. this will connect to distant WIFI signals, but will only communicate at the speed that the WIFI you're connected to can handle.

How did your installation work out. I'd like use my batwing antenna and fridge vent to run the the wire as well.

The new Rockwoods are including a WiFi ranger. I wonder if that is as good as this unit sounds to be.

I have used the WiFi Ranger twice now and I’m very satisfied with how it works. You connect it to the campground’s access point and then tie your devices to it. A great option if your campground limits you to the number of devices you can connect.

Just picked this up from Rokland for about 130. Tested it at home laying on a desk and it picked up a ton of access points around me. Trying to figure out how to go about mounting it now....

I bought this unit at Microcenter for $90 to replace the Wifi card in my desktop which was going haywire.

It is a USB3 AC1750 Wifi router...and it is awesome!

I just clip it to one of my window valances and I'm ready to go!

I am thinking about getting an external antenna for it, but it has worked pretty good in a couple parks with really bad Wifi.

Although where I'm at now out in the desert of southern New Mexico, I'm glad I have a Verizon Mifi Hotspot.

Even with only one or two bars I get a decent speed (I'm on it right now, as a matter of fact).

I just uncovered my camper from it’s long winter nap... installing the WIFI onto the batwing and routing the wire throught the refrigerator chase is on my priority list.

My antenna does not raise up...so...might go with the ladder mount or just use a suction cup and remove it when I leave a site.

I hope I'm not being Capt. Obvious, but I can't help but bring up a couple of cell phone options that take advantage of a WiFi connection that everyone might not be aware of.
I'm not sure about iPhones, but my Android has an internet calling option that is disabled by default. Switching it on will allow you to make voice calls over WiFi, this came in very handy for me a year ago when I was travelling abroad.
The other is an app I'm sure everyone has heard about, it's called WhatsApp and is a WiFi-based texting program. The drawback is that it only works with other phones using the app.
Since these are the only two functions I use my phone for that can't normally be done with just an internet connection I thought they were worth mentioning.

Internet (wifi) calling is available for iPhones, however carrier participation is required. I use AT&T, not sure but expect T-Mobile and Verizon also support this feature.
