Does it fit on a long box?

Attachment 116950We are getting serious about purchasing a SS1240. The brochures say the 1240 will fit the 6'6" or 8' box. However, I saw a photo on the Internet showing an overhang and a rather large gap between the camper and the cab. See attached picture. It may not be a 1240 but, it is a Palomino SS and it makes me nervous. I am particularly concerned about the area around the small external storage doors. It seems this area would have to fit around the side panels when the camper is up against the cab. Does it all fit? Can someone verify for me that the SS1240 will fit on a Ford F250 with an 8' box with the back of the camper fairly flush with the end of the bed? We seem to have only a single distributor in this part of Canada and there are none left in their lot for me to examine.

www.truckcampermagazine.com says short or long bed. Not sure why it is sitting so far back in the picture.

Thank you Hobiekaw for your reply. The dealer and I took a closer look at the posted picture and others in the Forest River gallery and have come to the conclusion that these are not real truck and camper photos but rather the camper has been photoshopped onto the truck. I am 90% confident the SS1240 will fit the long box with the rear portion wrapping around the side panels without issue. Too bad Forest River didn't take the trouble to mount their product on a real truck so as to avoid concerns like this one.

Go to the Palomino website. It lists the dimensions and what they fit and don't fit. I have a 1500 which is specifically made for an 8 foot box.

I wouldn't load a 1500 on an F250 however. Camper weight is 1900 empty.
