Hot water

SS-1251 does the hot water heat up only with propane? I see the heater switch inside, but wondered if you need propane or just power? Thanks

If you have a dual powered Suburban water heater, this thread may help you in where to look for an electric element switch (if equipped)

Most likely though, you have a propane only water heater, which just requires propane and a form of 12 volt DC.

Easy way to check. Turn valve off at propane tank and see if you can get hot water.
Pretty sure the on demand heater is propane. I use it dry camping a lot and haven't killed my batteries yet...
