Propane frig issue

We have a 2017 SS500 popup camper with a three way refrigerator. When we travel we try to run the frig off of propane. The problem is we can’t keep the flame going. We have tried slowing outside air vents down on the cover. This has been an issue from day one of ownership. Any suggestions?
When not traveling propane stays on.

3 way refrigerators are notorious for blowing out the pilot on travel.
I've had three, two of them wouldn't stay lit on propane while traveling.

Why not just run it on 12v?

12v would be dead by the time we got to campsite oftem. This was even when we were driving 6-8 hoursa day.

They don't have pilot lights. I do see where they can blow out the burner flame while traveling. Haven't had that happen on either one of our TT's so far.

All three of my 3 way refrigerators had pilot lights. No DSI.
This is a 3 way fridge in a pop-up.

DSI or a sparker to light the pilot?
My one 3 way had a manual push sparker.

So now we've reached the point of debating whether there's a pilot light (my money's on no).

I just check mine each time I stop, and if it's blown out I light it again. The 12V never seemed to work very well for me, and I have now disconnected the wire and use the 12V switch to control the fan I installed behind the vent.

The RM2652 is not a 3 way Fridge, it cannot only run on 12V. The Fridge runs on 120V or Propane. The 12v helps the fridge run on propane,works the light inside and the spark ignition only.

The only thing you can do is try to put some type of deflector to help keep the flame going.

The 12V also works the gas valve to keep fridge going.

I don't run my fridge while driving. I just charge it up on 120 the night before I leave and throw a frozen half gallon jug of water in it when I turn it off. The fridge stays nice cold with the frozen jug for hours, you just lose a little space. First thing I do when I get to camp and get level is turn the fridge to propane and light it up. Never have had a problem. Btw, I also have an ss500.

Well now that depends on what type of ignition . a dsi needs 12 volts . a spark where you push a button till pilot light are normally controlled by a thermocouple and need no outside 12v power . .

I would think if you're wired correctly to your truck running on 12v your truck alt should keep battery charged and fridge running . did on my truck mounted camper

I had a 2006 toy hauler and my fridge had a recall on it because of fire danger, they added a deflector which was a 8”x12” metal plate in front the burner. It worked great the burner stayed lit the whole 12 hour trip!
