06 sv291 surveyor soft floor

I bought a used sv-291 from someone and noticed about week later that the floor was very soft by the kitchen. I put the slide out and peeled back the linoleum only to discover mold. I want to cut it out and repair it, but I am not sure how the supports are under the floor. So, my question is does anybody know how the supports are layed under the floor?

Also, How hard is it to remove the kitchen from the side?

This repair is similar to any standard subfloor repair. You should be able to see screws on the subfloor cut a small observation hole so you can reach in or look at the supports. Set your saw to 3/4 inch depth. Once you know then it should not be to difficult.

Removing the kitchen from the slide is also similar to removing cabinets and trim. Except that many times they are stapled or nailed and not screwed. Need to be very careful and use good contractor skills such as using pieces of wood under tools to pry off trim so you don't gouge or nick other trim etc.

Find water leak first before fixing it. You dont want to replace the floor twice

I agree about finding the leak, but no such luck. We have had tons of rain the last few days and no signs of water. I soaked the unit down with a hose and the same thing nothing. I can figure out where it is coming from. Someone in another post said the water filter, but I didn't notice it there either. I have stripped half the unit apart already and can't seem to find it odd.

Unfortunately the previous owner may have fixed the leak before selling it to you but obviously did not fix the damage. He could have had a leaking water line somewhere that he just found and realized it did damage and then unloaded the trailer instead of doing the repairs.

There isn't any way of knowing the truth unless you were really close to the previous owner. I would just make a solid repair and move on.

The first thing to do now that you have things opened up is to run a dehumidifier in it to dry it out as much as possible.
My floor was ice cream sandwich. 5MM lauan top and bottom and 1 1/2" foam core. I found the plywood at Home depot. They call it Tri-PLY underlayment. The thickness matched what was used in my trailer.
