2007 Cherokee Floor Repair

New here, been reading for a while and working on new used trailer. We have been looking for a trailer for a few years - wanted a "one payment" trailer.

We finally found one, a 2007 Cherokee Lite 28a+ with toy hauler door in the front, and drove 3 hrs. to look at it. We looked for what was wrong with it and I had my dad check for soft spots around the edges and such. It looked good but for the price we figured we had room to work if repairs were needed.

Once we got it back and started investigating a little more I discovered a soft spot. It was in front right by toy hauler door. I tore up the linoleum in the storage compartment and started pulling out the old rotted floor - it literaly fell apart. It had to have been leaking since day one. I was sick at first at the discovery but as we tore into it more it was not as bad as it looked.

Here are a few pictures, I didn't take one with the new plywood in but it just looks like plywood.

Here is one with all the rotted wood cutout. The beams underneath were in good condition but we screwed new beams to each one we could. 2" x 2-5/8" was size needed.

We did find the leak. It was on top of toy hauler door, it was right on the joint in the corner. We dumped water on it and opened the door and it showed us right where it was.

We suspect the previous owners had no idea of it as water would not have been visible at all. I suspect if they had paid more attention to the trailer they may have found it but who knows.

All said and done the repair was under 100 bucks, not taking into account my dad's time and my time.

Found a from the factory leak on my 07 Cherokee WP22 on the power fan hinge. Hole in hinge that was not used for mounting that lead right to inside of roof. Only leaked when a 1/2 inch of water or more on roof but PO had obviously been trying to find it.
