2016 Windjammer 3006Wk AC Replacement Tip

I need to upgrade my 2016 Windjammer 3006WK 13,500 BTU AC Unit to a 15,000 BTU unit. It is a simple matter of unbolting the old unit, disconnecting the wiring and reinstalling he larger unit? Will the 15K unit fit in the same size hole? Will the 20A breaker manage the 15K Unit?

Any other perils to look out for?

A/C swap

Good question! I have thought about swapping the 13.5K unit on my 3001W with the 15K unit to better cool on hot days. The 13.5K is the main unit and is mid-ships, while the 15K is in the front bedroom and can easily convert it to a meat locker if I am not careful. It would be nice to just swap them and let the larger unit doing more of the work. Glad you asked the question, I'll watch for other responses.

D_B are you positive that the 15k is up front? I have always seen it the other way around.

Wink I'm positive! ...maybe

Well dang, about 90% sure. Because the standard 13.5K A/C/heat is in the mid position if you only have one unit. Also, the front A/C came with a nice digital controller, not the analog controller like the standard equipment unit that has AC and heat. Thanks...now I am going to have to get on top and take off the covers to check for sure, because it is going to bug me until I verify it. But I would bet a $1 that dealers don't take the time to move the stock unit to the front and then add the 15K to the middle; it was a Diamond package from the factory, so you my well be right. I did change the main AC/heat to a digital controller so they would play nice with each other and it was a big improvement, MUCH less swing in temps now.

All of the units that I have seen were factory 2 AC units. If your dealer added the second unit to your trailer you may be right.

D B I'd say if it came from the factory with 2 ac most likely the 15,000 would be in the living area and the 13,000 in the bed room. I know my 13 in the bed room will freeze you out. Later RJD
