what is the position of the water input selector valve? many rv's allow you to hook the city water hose up and then direct it to either the plumbing lines (will not fill fresh water tank) or the fresh water tank (will not flow through plumbing lines). look around where the hose connects and see if there is a lever handle that controls this valve. it may have legends on it like fresh tank, city water, normal, etc. if you find it and want to post a picture i'm sure somebody will explain further.

If water is running backwards through the filter, it means the check valve in your water pump is leaking backwards. This is a very common problem.
This can happen because either something got caught in the check valve or it just didn't back-seat properly.
Try this:
Turn off the city water.
Turn your water pump on.
Open a faucet and allow the water pump to pump water for a minute or two. This will flush water through the check valve.
Shut faucet, turn off pump.
Turn city water back on.
If this doesn't fix it, then you need to either replace the check valve or install an external check valve.

Beat me to it. My old motor home was really bad about this. We would camp somewhere for the weekend and when we would be a little way into the trip home I would notice the motorhome handling differently, wife would check and fresh tank would show full or 2/3 full(75 gal tank). The seat on my pump was bad and would leak all week/weekend while hooked to city water. I finally replaced it and no more problem.

Then you probably need a new check valve.

Did you replace the pump or only the check valves?

Yes I figure this what bed to be done.
I think to change the all pump.
From what I able to find check valves kit is $22 and new pump is $60 not a big difference
