8281ss tanks

I have a 2011 rockwood 8281ss and would like to know how big are the holding tanks. There are 2 black tanks and 1 grey and 1 galley. Does anyone know the exact specs? I can't find an email address for forest river to contact them.

They should all be 38 gal. I've attached the specs page for it from RVW's site...they incorrectly show only 1 black tank.

According to the Rockwood brochure, the fresh water is 43 gallons and gray and black are 76 gallon each.

I am always skeptical of what dealers advertise. We have one here that if the model has a 24 in it they list it as 24' even though it could be 28 or 30.

Here are the specs from the Forest River website:

http://www.forestriverinc.com/nd/def...series=8WideFW

2 38 gal black tanks = 76
2 38 gal gray tanks = 76

For the fresh water capacity they add the capacity of the water heater to that of the tank, which in this case results in 43.

I have the 8525BHSS (Flagstaff version of 8281SS). You may have already figured this out, but the rear black tank gets the sink and toilet water from the rear bathroom. The Center grey galley tank holds kitchen sink water only. The other grey tank gets sink and shower water from the full bath with the second black tank is the holding tank for the main toilet.
